On Wednesday, October 24th, several university officials met with the following representatives from the Theta Eta chapter: Kyle Newman (Board of Trustees Chairman), Dr. Greg Gaston (Chapter Advisor), Gaither and Renee Mills (Parents of ATO members), and Tyler Mills (Chapter President). The administrators present were Chenequa Clayton (Assistant Director of Greek Life), Tammy Jacques (Associate Director of Student Life), David Shields (Vice-President of Student Affairs), Dr. Dan Howard (Vice-President for Administration and International Services), and James Glasso (Director of Public Safety).
The reason the meeting took place was to examine the issue of students’ safety on the area of Greek Row. Several items were discussed including the safety concerns for the current ATO house and the possible relocation of the chapter. Some of the suggestions made in the meeting were increased lighting throughout the area and the clearing of any overgrown brush in the community. Earlier that day a walk-through of the Theta Eta chapter house was done by Mrs. Clayton, Tyler Mills, and representatives from the Physical Plant to point out any places of needed improvement. Several were made and were well documented.
The meetings were very productive and improvements were already made by Thursday afternoon. The garage door to the chapter house was repaired and new smoke detectors and fire alarms were installed throughout the house. Plans are in place for a follow-up meeting at the beginning of the Spring 2008 semester.

Theta Eta Homecoming Awards
UNA just wrapped up its 2007 Homecoming Week and Theta Eta walked aways with several awards. The Brothers won First Place in the Men's Division in Carnival Booth, Window Painting (pictured left), Pep Rally, Float, and Step Show. They also received Second Place in the Men's Division in the Homecoming Pinata. Theta Eta also had two brothers and three members of their Sweetheart Court on UNA's Homecoming Court and had three brothers named Promising Alumni. The week was also made a success by the number of alumni in attendance. We had several alumni come to our annual Pancake Breakfast and to our Homecoming Tailgate at Braly Stadium before the game. Thank you to all the parents and alumni who were able make it out to the weeks events.
